Career Association visits Nissan plant in Canton
On March 29, the Gentry High School Jobs For Mississippi Graduates Career Association toured the Nissan Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant to learn more about the STEM and engineering fields.
Students were able to see how cars are manufactured, observe diversity in the work place, and see how robots are replacing humans.

The Rebels played Strider Academy in a district double header, winning the first game 11-3 and the second contest 27-2.

A pesky mosquito is accused of causing a four-car wreck on Second Street Tuesday. A 50-year-old Greenwood woman told police she was looking down to swat the annoying blood-sucker who was biting her leg in the cab of her truck. The next thing she knew, she had hit a parked car, she said.

Alderman Marvin Elder made the motion to allow.
“Let’s not hold them up,” he said. Alderman Ruben Woods seconded and they both voted yes.

The Indianola native and current Wilkinson County resident has been writing since he was in the U.S. Army, where he served as a chaplain’s assistant during the early 1980s.
