When it comes to championship baseball, it’s all about who gets hot at the right time.

Sunflower County 4-H Shooting Sports kids recently participated at the Northwest District Shooting Sports Event held May 5 at the Tallahatchie County Fairgrounds in Charleston.

The Valley came to Gentry on Friday as university officials, including President Jeryl Briggs, took part in a reception to personally meet with the seniors who have committed to attend the Itta Bena school in the fall.

Indianola Police Chief Edrick Hall could be leaving the department this summer.  

Hall and Indianola Mayor Steve Rosenthal confirmed an earlier media report that Hall has been chosen to fill the assistant chief position in Columbus. 

It does not get much more exciting than this.

Playing on the road to start a playoff series has worked well for the Indianola Academy Colonels so far in 2018.

Indianola Academy hoops teams split pre-Christmas action at Hartfield


With Christmas Day now past, there is a full slate of Indianola Academy basketball action wrapping itself around New Year’s Day.
That action begins today and runs through next Tuesday beginning with the 6-1, 1-0 Colonels and the 6-5, 1-0 Lady Colonels opening their participation in the Kirk Academy Tournament in Grenada.
