City and inspector being sued over home, case heads to hearing

The city of Indianola appears to be headed to court to defend itself pursuant to allegations made by a homeowner that it failed to fully vet the credentials of an Arkansas contractor hired to construct her home.

A hearing before Judge W. Ashley Hines has been set for 10 a.m., June 25, in a Washington County Courtroom.








Families First for Mississippi Resource Center opens in town

The Families First for Mississippi Resource Center is now open in downtown Indianola and Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat came by recently for a special visit to welcome the children and their parents to the new facility.

“This is one of the best kept secrets in Mississippi,” resource center Director Ben Gaston said.
