When Tito Jackson was ready to announce his current tour with the B.B. King Blues Band, he chose to make that announcement in Indianola.

Gearlean McGee

Services for Gearlean McGee of Indianola will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lake Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Inverness.
Ms. McGee, 73, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Byas Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Gardens.

Noel Jackson Grant Jr.

Noel Jackson Grant Jr. passed from this life on Monday, October 30, 2017 at his home in Pontotoc. He was born outside Drew on August 15, 1929 to Noel Jackson and Effie Lou Ray Grant. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict in Germany as a mechanic.
