Gentry High School Teacher and Jobs for Americas Graduates Specialist Bettye Sims-Hawkins was honored as an outstanding JAG Specialist at the 34th annual National Training Seminar held in Las Vegas July 10 to July 14.
Hawkins was one of four recipients from the state and 128 nationwide who were recognized and received monetary awards courtesy of JAG Board members and Strategic Partnerships LLC. Hawkins also recently was awarded a certificate for graduating from the JAG 200 Management Development Institute.
She has been the only JAG teacher at Gentry since 2004.
Also, Gentry was one of nine schools recognized in the state as a 5 of 5 High Performance Club Member, an honor bestowed upon schools that achieve pre-set goals in five of the five required performance outcomes in areas like graduation rate and job placement.
