One of the biggest shortfalls for most of us is that we don’t see qualities within ourselves that others recognize. Many of us have God-given gifts that we haven’t recognized until someone tells us about them.
Not long ago I was on the receiving end of great patience from my wife and some of my friends. My wife and I along with two other couples had driven from our home state of Mississippi to Niagara Falls, Canada.
Should someone come to you today and ask you to define the true meaning of life, what would you say? I have heard many people say, “I want to be happy and successful.” One must wonder what it takes to be happy and successful.
Many times during our lifetime we may exhibit the gift of exhortation and not even realize it. The ability to exhort or encourage to action is a spiritual gift. To exhort, according to Webster’s Dictionary, means to urge earnestly by advice, warning, etc.
Most everyone knows or has heard the story of David and Goliath. Goliath was a Philistine and a giant man. He led the Philistines into battle against the Israelites and challenged anyone to come from their army to fight him one on one.
Time is important to everyone. It doesn’t matter what we are doing or where we are going, the factor of time is something that we are going to consider. Our time on earth is like a vapor or a mist and soon it will be gone.
