It is now a must-win situation for the Gentry High Rams if they are to advance to postseason play.
A near-miraculous comeback, which featured two touchdowns within the last 21 seconds of the game, came up just short of a road victory for Gentry Friday night.
The Rams fell by a 28-26 score to Raymond in the season’s initial Region 3-4A contest.
Gentry High is saying good riddance to the non-regional portion of its schedule after an 0-6 start.
But the Rams will have new opportunities as they open their all-important Region 3-4A play Friday night with a visit to Raymond High.
Frank S. Brown was 27 years old and in his first year as a head football coach. What’s more, his team had lost 25 lettermen. Few would have predicted a special season for that Gentry High squad in 1975-1976, but Brown said he had a feeling.
