Multiple candidates find campaign signs ripped up, vandalized

The 2017 Indianola municipal race has already begun to show indications of signage vandalism as candidates are claiming intentional damage to their political signs.
Some signage may have fallen victim to blustery weather and some improper installation, but others show definite signs of malicious intent.

Drew woman charged in prison break, inmate still at large

Tenika Nicole Romero, 35, of Drew has been arrested in connection with Monday’s escape of two Parchman inmates who were discovered missing during the routine count of Unit 30 of the facility.
Romero was booked into the Sunflower County Jail Wednesday morning and charged with conspiracy to escape and her bond has been set at $50,000.

Regular board of aldermen meeting called off, rescheduled for tonight at 7 p.m.

The lack of a quorum caused Monday night’s Indianola Board of Aldermen meeting to be postponed.
Mayor Steve Rosenthal said on Wednesday that the meeting has been rescheduled for tonight at 7 p.m.
Only Aldermen Dana Myrick and Ruben Wood were present. Rosenthal said.
