Former Municipal Court Judge Alsee McDaniel has filed a wrongful termination lawsuit in United States District Court in Oxford, against Indianola Mayor Steve Rosenthal and each member of the city’s Board of Aldermen.

Beginning in October, Sunflower County residents will notice a change in the car tag renewal notices they receive. The Mississippi Department of Revenue will no longer print auto tag renewal notices for county tax offices as it has done for the past 40 years.
Sunflower County Board President Glenn Donald finally got the votes to rescind a policy he maintains has been costing the county money. The board voted 3-1 in its recent meeting to allow the county to begin issuing car tags to those who still owe balances on their residential solid waste accounts.
South Sunflower County Hospital is making new history. Last Friday, the community gathered on the grounds outside of the newly-renovated hospital to finally cut the ribbon on its $9.5 million renovation and expansion. “This facility has come a long ways,” said hospital administrator Courtney Phillips.
